Valve contract for Chinese LNG carriers
Specialist valve manufacturer wins contract to equip two LNG carriers in China with cryogenic top entry ball valves.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China has signed a deal with specialist valve manufacturer Truflo Rona to equip its next two LNG carriers The LNG ships - H1378 and H1379 - will be equipped with the Belgian company's cryogenic top entry ball valves

These are the third and fourth ever LNG carriers to be built in China, and the deal is a significant penetration of the potential market for Truflo.
Truflo's valves equipped the first two LNG ships - H1308 and H1309 - currently under construction.
Fujian will be China's second LNG importation terminal and is intended to supply two major new power plants, Songyu II (1800MW) in Xiamen, and Nanpu (1800MW) in Quanzhou, serving the five major coastal cities of Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou and Putian.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding is a major shipbuilding enterprise under the leadership of China Shipbuilding Group.
Its yards and offices are in Pudong New Area, together with major production areas in the eastern part of Shanghai, along both sides of Huangpu River, and cover an area of 1.35 million m2 and 2000m of wharf line.
Cecile Lhoest of Truflo Rona said: "China's coastal provinces and oil companies are rushing to invest billions of dollars to build LNG import projects to feed power generators as well as domestic requirements, amid wide-spread power shortages".
"At least three more LNG terminals are currently under discussion".
"If all are approved, China is expected to have seven receiving terminals built along its coastline before 2010".
"It is a strong endorsement of Truflo Rona's long experience and reputation for safety critical applications that we have been selected as a supplier partner from the beginning of these projects".
