Robust nylon pillars offer versatility

A G and B Projects product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 15, 2006

The manufacturer and stockist of Pillars and Spacers, G and B Projects, will be displaying its extensive range of robust and highly adaptable nylon pillars on stand F19 at Southern Manufacturing 2007

The company's standard range comes in round, hexagonal and micro specifications, with body sizes from 4mm x M2.5 to 105mm x M12, In addition, G and B can manufacture custom sizes and specifications on request with fast turnaround, in many cases at no extra cost.

Being UK based manufacturers, pillar characteristics such as body style, body diameter, thread type and thread length can be specified to meet customers' exact requirements rapidly and economically.

For example, a customer could specify a 37.5mm long round nylon pillar featuring an M3 female insert at one end and a 20mm long M4 male thread at the other.

All G and B pillars use only the highest grade virgin Nylon 66 and feature an innovative insert design and locating process.

To date, a G and B designed insert has never disengaged from the nylon body in any practical application.

Thanks to the exceptional strength and resilience of the solid body style and brass insert design, all nylon pillars from G and B are inherently resistant to shock, vibration in use, movement in transit, accidental falls and other incidents that typically cause inferior products to fail.

Compared to plastic or metal pillars, G and B products deliver the best of both worlds by offering increased strength over plastic pieces and excellent electrical insulation properties not attainable with metal, plus the added advantages provided by the solid nylon body design of minimised electrical flashover and the elimination of internal current tracking in comparison to conventional hollow constructions.

Almost every component can be custom made to non standard specifications, as required by the customer.

Free evaluation samples of G and B products will be available at the show for visitors to take away.
