Long-fibre compounds offer metal
replacement
Two new grades of glass-reinforced LNP Verton polybutylene-terephthalate compound are alternatives to competing short-fibre glass-filled PBT, polypropylene and nylon resins.
GE Advanced Materials, Plastics has introduced two new grades of its glass-reinforced LNP Verton polybutylene-terephthalate (PBT) compound as alternatives to competing short-fibre glass-filled PBT, polypropylene (PP) and nylon resins LNP Verton WF-7007 compound, with a 35% long glass-fibre loading, and LNP Verton WF-700-10 compound, with a 50% loading, deliver enhanced toughness, strength, and stiffness at wide temperature extremes

LNP Verton WF compounds offer the balance of high-performance properties required for exterior metal-replacement applications such as vehicle windshield wiper arms, side mirror housings and handles for garage doors.
They are also excellent candidates for a range of other applications including electrical connectors and switches, appliance handles, and electronic motor housings.
