GAMBICA has produced new guides on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) and on PWM inverter operation.

GAMBICA has produced new guides on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) and on PWM inverter operation Entitled "Making the most of the Climate Change Levy package", the first new guide will help businesses understand the CCL rates, as they are applied to the use of electricity, gas, coal, and liquid petroleum gas, and how relief from the levy may be available

The guide also describes the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme which provides tax allowances to companies that invest in energy saving, through the use of designated, energy efficient, equipment.

The second guide, "Motor shaft voltages and bearing currents under PWM inverter operation", describes good practice in the application of motors on pulsewidth modulated (PWM) inverter supplies with respect to shaft voltages.

It is the result of studies carried out by GAMBICA and REMA (Rotating Electrical Machines Association) and takes note of well established fundamental theory and technical papers, and reports on specific investigations.

The guide also provides additional information on other important aspects such as voltage rating, torque derating, additional losses, noise and maximum safe operating speed.

Both guides, together with details of GAMBICA's Variable Speed Drive Group, are available as downloadable PDF files from the GAMBICA website.
