WEEE compliance seminars continue

B2B Compliance will begin its sixth series of WEEE compliance seminars from next month.

B2B Compliance will begin its sixth series of WEEE compliance seminars from next month.

Over 300 companies so far have attended the seminars, which are principally focused on the business-to-business (B2B) sector.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations will place significantly different obligations on this sector compared to the consumer products sector.

The B2B Compliance seminars cover these obligations together with interpretation of the WEEE regulations, strategic positioning and financial impacts and include an extensive question and answer session.

Geoff Young, Chief Executive of Gambica, the trade association which initiated B2B Compliance, said: "What sets apart the B2B Compliance seminars from most other WEEE seminars is that the focus is on electrical and electronic equipment producers who sell to business end users, and so delegates don't get side tracked with information related to household WEEE".

"Producers also leave our seminars with the knowledge that there is an easy, cost-effective and open solution to their WEEE issues through the B2B Compliance scheme".

The WEEE regulations allow for producers to meet their obligations through a producer compliance scheme - the compliance scheme takes on the obligations of its members and can then use the collective economies of scale to achieve lower costs.

B2B Compliance membership is open to all producers who supply products to the business, institutional and public sectors (ie predominantly non-household sector).
