Geoff Young, Director of B2B Compliance and Chief Executive of one of the ten supporting trade associations, expressed his delight at this early approval: "I believe that our clear focus on nonhousehold (business to business) WEEE, which has significantly different obligations from household WEEE under the regulations, has made scrutiny of our operational plan straight forward for the agency, and we are pleased to have achieved the first approval".
"B2B Compliance, a 'not for profit' organisation, has proved itself as the definitive scheme for the B-to-B sector and is now supported by hundreds of producers as the registration deadline approaches".
Now that the B2B compliance scheme is formally approved, the scheme will be able to submit data on behalf of its membership which now covers over 200 companies in the business-to-business sector, including major multinationals and a significant number of SMEs.
The B2B compliance website provides a full membership listing and details of how to join the scheme.
