GarrettCom's latest Magnum range Ethernet switch is the 4K220CR, which offers 40 ports in a 1U-high module for high port density and low cost per port, boosting the performance of Ethernet LANs For an equal number of ports, other solutions take up double the rack space or more

All rack-mount situations are supported - 19in, ETSI and 23in telco.

The high packing density is achieved by dedicating the front of the unit to the LED indicators for each port, with the rear accommodating the wiring and power connections.

This means that when the unit is in operation, status LEDs may be monitored without interference from the wiring and cables on the other side.

Designed for network traffic centre applications, the Magnum 4K220 is easy to install and use.

10 and 100Mbit/s switching speeds are covered, with full- or half-duplex per port.

The addresses of attached nodes are self-learned and maintained, easily adapting the switching services to network changes and expansions to provide plug-and-play operation.

Ports are arranged in two banks of 20, each with a 200Mbit/s internal trunk interconnect.

2Mbyte packet buffers are included for advanced performance, even with unbalanced loads.

The dynamic 4K node address table allows it to support large networks.

Like all GarrettCom 4K series switches, faulty packets are filtered to avoid traffic congestion.

The Magnum 4K220 is supplied in a rugged metal case and autoranging power supply for worlwide use.

48V DC powered versions can be supplied as an option.

Magnum 4K220 is already used in NEBS-certified systems.
