Synchronous belt transmits far more power
Gates' newly released PowerGrip GT2 synchronous belt is the result of the company's expertise in material technology and construction design and offers an improved performance and extended life
Gates' newly released PowerGrip GT2 synchronous belt is the result of the company's expertise in material technology and construction design and offers an improved performance and extended product life.
Thanks to the use of a highly advanced compound of new materials, PowerGrip GT2 outperforms all previous PowerGrip constructions.
Since small drive packages increase flexibility, space utilisation and cost effectiveness, PowerGrip GT2 belts allow design of more compact drives with much higher power capacity.
The new synchronous belt is capable of transmitting twice as much power as PowerGrip HTD belts or up to 50% more power than PowerGrip GT belts.
PowerGrip GT2 can be applied to the existing Gates PowerGrip GT and PowerGrip HTD drives for increased durability.
They operate on the same pulleys and do not require any adaptation of the drive system, thus considerably reducing maintenance costs and offering a longer service life.
PowerGrip GT2 is available in 8MGT and 14MGT pitches and in pitch lengths from 384 mm to 6860 mm.
The belt's helically wound tensile member provides high strength, excellent flex life and high resistance to elongation.
An elastomeric backing, bonded to the tensile member, protects the cords from environmental pollution and frictional wear.
The tough nylon facing with a low friction coefficient protects the tooth surfaces against wear.
