Rugged interfaces offer Pentium and NT power

New Cimplicity Display Station 2020 combines powerful touch-screen Operator Interface and HMI facilities.

GE Fanuc has expanded its range of rugged Operator Interfaces with the addition of its new CIMPLICITY Display Station 2020 touch-screen model which combines powerful HMI facilities with Pentium processing power and Windows NT in a compact solution ideal for a wide variety industrial control systems.

Display Station 2020 is a highly integrated model, complete with 12.1 inch Active Matrix TFT color screen, and comes pre-installed with Windows NT and powerful 32-bit CIMPLICITY HMI software configured for an unlimited point count.

It allows users to quickly create complete Operator Interface panels that can link to a wide variety of GE Fanuc and third party systems.

Display Station 2020 also features all the performance and versatility of a 233 or 350MHz Pentium-processor running Windows NT, with a choice of 64 or 128kB of DRAM, in an industrially rugged unit ideal for use in stand-alone or systems applications.

It comes complete with built-in 6.4GB hard drive and 24x CD ROM drive, as well as front panel access for mouse, floppy drive, keyboard, CD ROM and parallel port.

The display uses a high quality 12.1 inch Active Matrix TFT color screen with SVGA resolution and a resistive touch-screen overlay for reliable operation.

The front panel provides five large easy-to-use function keys on each side of the screen, plus 24 re-legendable function keys below the screen, all configurable within the HMI software, as well as data entry keys.

Designed for use in rugged industrial environments, its small size also allows it to be used to upgrade some existing 10-inch operator interfaces to a higher performance 12.1-inch interface without increasing the panel cutout size.

Two CPI and three ISA expansion slots are also provided for easy expansion and a PCI Ethernet card allows networking via standard TCP/IP protocols to other plant-wide control and monitoring systems.

GE Fanuc can also pre-configure Display Stations for use with a wide range of PLC and CNC products including GE Fanuc's PC Control software and CNCs using a plug-in HSSB card and Ladder Editing program.

CIMPLICITY HMI is one of the industry's most powerful HMI software systems and is scalable from a single MMI or OI to a complete plant-wide control and monitoring system.

Display Station 2020 measures only 402 x 319 x 242mm (15.8 x 12.6 x 9.5 inches) and has full UL, CE, FCC and NEMA 4/12 approvals.

The display also has IEC IP65 approval for use in rugged industrial environments.

Other models in GE Fanuc's Display Station family provide a choice of 10.4, 12.1, 13.8 or 18-inch TFT displays with VGA, SVGA, XGA or full SXGA resolutions.
