GE Fanuc Automation is forming a strategic partnership with the Nordic distributor Novotek.
GE Fanuc Automation is forming a strategic partnership with the Nordic distributor Novotek.
The new distributor contract, signed last week, not only allows Novotek to sell GE Fanuc's Industrial IT software, but also the rest of the GE Fanuc automation offering like controllers, panels and drives in the Nordic countries.
This way, Novotek now is able to offer a complete set of automation products to their customers for implementing fully integrated automation solutions.
The Nordic automation market is estimated to have a yearly volume of Eur 185 million.
Based on the new offering it is expected that Novotek will gain a significant additional market share and will grow to a yearly revenue of Eur 35 million over the next couple of years.
John Pritchard, President GE Fanuc Automation Europe, is very excited about this extended distribution contract: "With our new and powerful products we see large opportunities to increase our market share considerably.
To reach this goal in the Nordic territories, we have been looking for a partner, who can cover the complete Nordic market.
Novotek was by far the best offer with a good organisation in the four major Nordic countries.
We also know Novotek very well as an Intellution distributor, who had been selling Industrial IT software successfully since almost 18 years.
Novotek also has a long history in automation and therefore we expect that Novotek will grow our business fast.
Through Novotek's deep knowledge regarding software and solutions for various vertical market, we now are able to offer complete solutions".
Goran Andersson, President and CEO of Novotek, explains his reasons to sign this distribution contract: "For Novotek, the distribution agreement with GE Fanuc is very important.
Now our customers can get access to new technology with integrated solutions called PACSystems.
One program for logic, drives and panels, which is very well integrated into the plant intelligence solutions, Novotek's previous offering from a long time cooperation with the GE Intellution business.
The market for controls is changing and that is why we now have extended our product range.
Competing solutions have separate programs for controls, drives and panels.
Through PACSystems the user gets much better flexibility and that means lower overall cost.
Also GE Fanuc has very interesting solutions for redundancy.
In an industry with fewer people working in maintenance departments, a redundant system is more and more an alternative and often a very profitable investment".
