PLCopen awards GE Fanuc certificates of compliance

A GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 12, 2008

PLCopen has awarded GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms certificates of compliance for its PACMotion software.

PLCopen represents various industries and seeks to drive efficiency in industrial automation by creating specifications and implementations in engineering programming.

GE Fanuc fulfilled the requirements in PLCopen Compliance Procedure for Motion Control Library v.1.1 and PLCopen Compliance Procedure for Motion Control Part 2 - Extensions, v1.0.

PACMotion allows engineers already familiar with these IEC languages to quickly integrate motion control into their existing programs and develop new programs in the quickest and most efficient way.

PACMotion uses GE Fanuc's Proficy Machine Edition, an integrated programming environment for machine logic, motion and HMI all in a single program.

A single programming environment allows developers to utilise common tag databases, common scripting and eliminate all synchronisation logic between separate programs.

Many new features, such as motion function blocks, have been added to Proficy Machine Edition.

PACMotion serves the needs of high-speed machines with a high number of synchronised axes.

It is suitable for applications in industries such as packaging, assembly, woodworking and printing.
