In a move to expand upon its market presence in China, Geomagic has opened a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai.

In a move to expand upon its market presence in China, Geomagic a worldwide software and services firm headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, has opened a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai.

Geomagic (Shanghai) Software was formed as a result of the increasing demand for Geomagic software in the Chinese manufacturing market.

Previously, the company had a branch office to service its customer base.

"China is an evolving market, especially in the areas of design and testing," comments Jerry Zhou, deputy general manager for Geomagic (Shanghai) Software.

"We believe Geomagic solutions will contribute to China's developing economy by offering fast and cost-effective engineering and inspection solutions to a growing customer base".

The new Geomagic subsidiary will provide sales, training and support to customers throughout the region.

Development and software testing are also performed in China.

As part of its commitment to the Chinese market, all Geomagic software products, including Studio and Qualify, are available in Chinese language.

is located in the new economic development zone in the heart of the city, within five miles from the domestic Shanghai airport.
