Pressure transducers excel in stability

A Gems Sensors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 26, 2000

Constant repeatability and long-term stability are easily handled by the Psibar Series 1200 pressure transducers by combining proven Chemical Deposition (CVD) and ASIC technologies.

Psibar Series 1200 pressure transducers are designed for applications that require constant repeatability and long-term stability.

These requirements are easily handled by the Psibar Series 1200 in off road vehicles, railroad equipment, semiconductor equipment, power plants, HVAC and R, production machinery and robotics applications.

The benefits of superior thermal linearity and an excellent long-term stability of <0.2% span/year are achieved by combining proven Chemical Deposition (CVD) and ASIC technologies.

Psibar transducers are the ideal sensors for use with hydraulic equipment, where over pressure and pressure transients may harm mechanical operations.

Psibar Series 1200 transducers can handle the most arduous conditions including a range of aggressive liquids, oils and gasses, pressure ranges up to 400 bar.

The maximum operating temperature ranges from -40C to +125C.

A specially formed diaphragm provides 4X over-pressure capability, enabling sensors to survive the most severe pressure spikes.

The design - which features welded and nickel-brazed stainless steel wetted parts - eliminates the need for O-rings or oil filters and ensures sensors are free from possible leak paths and oil media contamination.

Psibar transducers have an operating life exceeding 100 million cycles.

Gems Sensors uses sophisticated manufacturing techniques to produce a high-performing, yet cost-effective pressure transducer.

Psibar sensors are subjected to rigourous hardness, leak, pressure, thermal cycling and ageing tests to ensure the transducers will resist pressure shocks and mechanical vibration.

Psibar Series 1200 transducers are available with variety of electrical and pressure connections and a choice of common or custom outputs to match customer applications.
