Gems Sensors has launched a new range of CLS-1200 liquid level sensors, which are suitable for a wide range of demanding applications involving electrically conductive liquids.
Ideal for OEM applications, the compact CLS-1200 sensors are less than 75mm long.
These solid state sensors feature integrated switching electronics that withstand operating temperatures to 125C - eliminating the need for remotely mounted controllers and bulky J-Boxes.
Capable of operating in pressures to 170 bar, the sensors are resistant to vibration and thermal shock for high reliability in outdoor conditions.
They also offer an IP67 moisture entry protection rating.
Typical applications include water level monitoring in oil or fuel separators, waste water level monitoring, leak detection, steam boiler water level monitoring, fluid level monitoring in ultrasonic cleaning equipment and coolant level monitoring in radiators and expansion reservoirs.
CLS-1200 sensors are suitable for use in plastic or metal vessels and - with wetted materials of stainless steel and ceramic - offer broad chemical compatibility.
An exclusive fused-ceramic sealing process eliminates the need for o-rings and compression fittings at the sensors tip and ensures leak-free operation.
A special electronics design features built in slosh dampening with factory-set time delay (from 0 to 10 seconds) that reduces nuisance switching caused by sloshing liquid.
The sensors' electronics design extends operating life by supplying a low alternating square wave voltage to the sensor tip.
This feature ensures that the sensor tip remains free from a potential condition, which can cause erosion and renders conventional conductivity sensors inoperable, after a short time.
CLS-1200 sensors also feature built-in protection against reverse polarity, over-voltage and load dump.
Mounting is through 1/4" BSP ports.
Signal input is 8-32 Vdc with 18 AWG, Polymeric jacketed lead wires (300mm long).
Wetted parts include 330 stainless steel, 304L stainless steel and ceramic materials.
A patent is currently pending.
