Gems Sensors has announced a new Electro-optic liquid level sensor with flange mounting, for sheet metal or moulded plastic tanks, where threaded installations are not practical.

These compact sensors feature a thread-free design, with minimal prism intrusion, ensuring easy installation in thin-walled vessels (6mm thick).

Sensors simply slip through a 20mm hole and are manually tightened.

A 1/8" Viton gasket forms a tight seal.

These flanged Electro-optic sensors are also ideal for use in medical applications where exposed threads cause potential bacterial breeding and contamination.

Their small size and high reliability suit a broad range of industrial applications, including coolant level monitoring, fire protection systems, leak detection, low water pump cut-off, chemical bath level monitoring and brake and hydraulic level monitoring.

Gems ELS-1100FLG sensors integral solid-state, TTL/CMOS compatible switching into a 1- piece Polysulfone housing, which eliminates the need for a separate controller.

These non-metallic units are unaffected by particulates in the monitored liquid and operate in virtually any fluid - regardless of specific gravity, conductivity, dielectric constant or foaming.

Gems ELS-1100FLG sensors accurately monitor liquids to within ñ1mm, in vessels pressurised up to 10bar.

Operating temperatures range from (-40øC to 80øC).

Input power requires 5 Vdc or 10-28 Vdc.

Current consumption is approximately 18mA.

Units mount either vertically or horizontally.
