Gems Sensors now offers a nylon version of its compact and economical electro-optic ELS 1100 liquid level sensor.

Gems Sensors now offers a nylon version of its compact and economical electro-optic ELS 1100 liquid level sensor.

Its nylon body is ideal for applications involving hydrocarbons, oil, gas, diesel, fuels, and hydraulic oil.

The nylon version of the ELS 1100 is available with 1/4" NPT and 3/8" conduit mountings.

A M12x1-8g straight thread version is available with a dependable Viton O-Ring, to ensure a leak-proof seal, for HVAC sensing applications.

The ELS 1100 provides reliable and accurate high, low or intermediate liquid level sensing in practically any tank - large or small - with very little intrusion into tanks or piping.

The electro-optical sensor on the ELS 1100 contains an infrared LED and light receiver.

Light from the LED is directed into a prism which forms the tip of the sensor.

With no liquid present, light from the LED is reflected within the prism to the receiver.

The unit actuates electronic switching when rising liquid immerses the prism, causing the light to be refracted out into the liquid.

These units operate in pressures from 10 bar and in temperatures from -18øC to +80øC.

Power consumption is approximately 18mA.

Wetted parts are also available in polysulfone in addition to nylon.

Solid-state electronics are completely self contained in a one-piece moulded design to ensure dependability over a long service life, and provide detection accuracy to within 1+/-mm.
