Gems Sensors has added the new low-cost FS-380P Series to its selection of field-proven brass and stainless steel OEM flow sensors.

The moulded-polypropylene inline device is more tolerant of particulate and less susceptible to sticking than other designs.

It also provides low pressure drop and convenient mounting in any position.

Made of WRC/NSF and FDA compliant materials, the flow switch has an operating pressure that extends to around 13bar at 21C and 6bar at 100C.

Fixed setpoints range from 1 to 7.6 litre/min.

Designers have a choice of port connections: quick disconnect ports with a broad selection of mating connectors including 0.375in BSP, NPT, barb and tube connections.

The quick disconnect selection also includes John Guest connectors - each available with an integral shutoff valve.

FS-380P housings are moulded from polypropylene, pistons are PPS composite, and other wetted parts include 316 stainless steel and fluorocarbon O-rings.

The unit measures less than 120mm in length and switch action is SPST 10VA, terminated with 0.6m, 22 AWG wire leads.

Applications include cooling protection on laser, semiconductor equipment, welders, chillers, and for water-treatment/chemical distribution systems - to name just a few.
