Gems Sensors and Controls unveils UCL-520 sensors

A Gems Sensors product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 10, 2009

Gems Sensors and Controls, a manufacturer of liquid-level, pressure and flow sensors, miniature solenoid valves and fluidic systems, has launched the UCL-520 series of ultrasonic-level sensors.

The UCL-520 series is suitable for non-contact applications such as industrial water treatment, wastewater management and chemical storage, as well as many other challenging fluid applications.

The sensor is a two-wire, ultrasonic transmitter for measurement up to 26.2ft (8m) and is built with a rugged polyvinylidene difluoride transducer for challenging ultra pure, corrosive or waste liquids.

It can be installed within limited-space applications and the minimum 8in (20cm) dead band allows for maximum fill of media.

The UCL-520 offers a 3in minimum beam width for restricted space applications and the selectable display indicates the level in air gap or liquid height.

The sensor is push-button calibrated with a six-segment liquid crystal display and is broadly selected for corrosive media, including atmospheric bulk storage, day tank and waste sump applications.
