Sensor detects fuel cap in vehicles

A Gentech International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 19, 2000

Using reliable reed switch and PCB assembly, coupled with magnetic actuation, the Gentech fuel cap detection system can sense the presence or absence of a fuel cap in a variety of vehicles.

Demonstrating the custom design capabilities of switching, sensing and control system specialist Gentech International is the petrol and diesel fuel cap detection system.

Using reliable reed switch and PCB assembly, coupled with magnetic actuation, the system can be employed to sense the presence or absence of a fuel cap in a variety of vehicles.

Using moulded or standard ferrite magnets for actuation, Gentech PS Series sensors can be used to detect whether the fuel cap on a vehicle is open or closed via the fuel detection system.

With a choice of normally open, normally closed or changeover switching options, the sensor can activate a visual LED, audible alarm or trigger control systems linked to the vehicle's fuel system The system provides engineers with a flexible sensing solution in one compact package with an option for quick connect and disconnect.

"The very latest in state of the art 3D computer aided design systems, test and analysis facilities and automated production and product assembly lines, as well as significant investment in highly qualified and experienced personnel make Gentech the perfect and proven design partner for this and virtually any sensing, switching or control project," Gentech sales director Norman Forsythe.
