Level sensor knows its specific gravities

A Gentech International product story

The VS323-11N liquid level sensor from switching, sensing and control solution specialists Gentech International solves the problem of water buildup at the bottom of low density hydrocarbon liquid tanks and filter housings and prolongs the life of plant equipment, especially hydraulic machinery.

Caused by humidity or water contamination in the delivered fuel/oil supply, undetected water build up can lead to failure of equipment or false fuel level indication.

To counter this, the Gentech VS323-11N sensor features a float with an SG signature that will discriminate between the fluids - water and fuel.

The buoyancy of the float will be set to float only in water.

When mounted at the foot of the tank and when water collects it forms below the fuel and floatation will occur in the oil to water interface.

The sensor then signals the water "buildup" which can be remedied by manually venting or pump actuation.
