Gentech International has a digital optical liquid level sensor that can be mounted at any angle and top, side or bottom fitted, making it one of the most versatile liquid level sensors on the market.

The compact optical sensor - measuring just 30.25 x 19mm - contains an infra-red emitter and optical receiver encapsulated in polysulphone.

In air the infra-red beam is reflected internally by the polysulphone, indicating an absence of liquid.

When liquid reaches the sensor the light emitted is lost in the liquid due to the refractive index change between the casing and its exterior.

The sensor then indicates the presence of liquid.

Typical applications include food and beverage processing, pump control, swimming pools, radiators, industrial washing machines, tank level control, water treatment, vending machines and medical equipment.

Because the Gentech optical sensor has no moving parts, the lifetime of the sensor is extended and it can be used in a variety of liquids, while also being resistant to limescale build up.
