Shrinking bonus for position switches

A Gentech International product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Feb 10, 2003

Gentech reckons its latest position sensors provide a number of advantages over rival devices.

The latest additions to the comprehensive range of position sensors available from switching, sensing and control solutions specialist Gentech International provide a number of advantages over rival devices.

The magnetically operated, economically priced Gentech PS831 and PS832 position sensors are smaller, have a greater sensing distance and require no voltage for operation, making them ideal for applications in the food, transport and vending machine industries.

The sensors measure just 32mm long and are available in stainless steel and Nylon 6.6 versions with an operating temperature range of -30 to +120C.

The sensors are unaffected by electrical noise and have a maximum contact rating of 100V DC/250V AC, 1A, 15W.

The Gentech PS831 position sensor uses a normally open Gentech GR10 reed switch, whereas the PS832 uses a normally closed GR165 switch, both operated by the Gentech PM83 AlNiCo magnet.
