Magnetic reed switches, selected and tailored to meet precise customer requirements, provide lower cost/higher performance solutions to a variety of switching challenges, says leading UK switch manufacturer Gentech International.

In contrast to "off the shelf" suppliers, Gentech radically reduces costs, eliminating "fallout" problems by evaluating each volume application, preselecting from a comprehensive switch range the reed switch to meet operate/release criteria and tailoring by cutting and bending switch leads to match mounting requirements.

Typical of the application solutions created by Gentech's application-oriented technical support team are auto tellers, telephone hook switches, hand tool triggers and petrol pump holsters - all in rugged environments and many requiring robust packaging.

Magnetic reed switches are also matched, as required, to a range of compatible Gentech magnets for frictionless, "no levers needed", volt-free contact - ideal for applications requiring reliable repeatability either with a fixed actuator or interruption vane.

Fast action, with closure within 1ms, make magnetic reed switches ideal for safety interlock, rotational counter, movement detection and proximity operation.

Based on 40 years' experience in developing and producing switches and associated sensors, the current Gentech product range includes subminiature to large high power switches, Form A (normally open) and Form C (changeover) types and UL listed switches for pilot duty and general purpose load switching.

Priced to challenge world markets and available ex-stock with matching magnets, Gentech magnetic reed switches are cross-referenced to provide economical alternatives to competitive products.
