Prototyping software minimises design risks

A Geomate product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 18, 2007

Digital prototyping software enables engineers to evaluate new product concepts, validate critical design parameters and identify cost-effective manufacturing methods.

New from Geomate, GrafiCalc Expert 2008 digital prototyping software combines the disciplines of sketching, calculations, motion simulation, tolerance analysis and backsolving in a single CAD-neutral application.

GrafiCalc Expert 2008 enables engineers to evaluate new product concepts, validate critical design parameters and identify cost-effective manufacturing methods - before committing to expensive modelling and manufacturing resources.

GrafiCalc Expert 2008 incorporates many facilities that help engineers to reduce costs while significantly improving product quality, including: enhanced function modelling tools; an enhanced geometry goalseek facility; mechanism simulation and analysis; transient data collection for Excel analysis; statistical tolerance analysis; reverse tolerance analysis; programmable geometry-synchronous calculators; and a bidirectional CAD and Excel interface.

GrafiCalc Expert 2008 is Vista compatible Windows standard self-contained application that can be used stand-alone and in conjunction with Excel as well as all popular CAD applications.

"By providing an up-front view of all aspects of the final product performance and producibility parameters, GrafiCalc Expert 2008 is expected to minimises the risks inherent to the prevailing 'build-test-fix' approach to product development", says Geomate founder Shyamal Roy.

"The net results are profitable products that will go to market in less time".

GrafiCalc Expert 2008 is available now with a single-user commercial licence priced at US $995.

A single-user educational/student licence is available for US $95.
