Gilbeyco of Aylesbury has acquired the business of spares and ancillary equipment suppliers, GJ Gilbey and Co, following the retirement of founder and managing director Geoff Gilbey after many years serving the UK surface engineering industry.

The new management team, based in Aylesbury, plans to extend the range and scope of products offered through Gilbeyco.

A website with online catalogue has been created at www.gilbeyco.com.

This includes a special "always in stock" section and offers a "just in time" service with many items available for next day delivery.

GJ Gilbey has been synonymous with the metal finishing industry in particular for many years, supplying a wide variety of spares and equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, dosing controllers, barrels, tanks, rectifiers and other essential items.

This range is now being broadened following the transfer from Beaconsfield to Gilbeyco's premises in Aylesbury.

The familiar figure of Mike Bennett, widely known in the industry, will bring his expertise as sales manager to the new company.

The online catalogue is already available and will be enlarged during the next few months to reflect a more extensive range of products.

Full details will be released later.
