GKS Inspection Services has acquired a full-sized cargo van for its Detroit-area office.

GKS Inspection Services has acquired a full-sized cargo van for its Detroit-area office.

"We are adding convenience to our already long list of services by offering free part pickup and drop-off for our local customers", said Steve DeRemer, General Manager of the GKS Michigan Region.

The free service is for customers within a 24km radius of GKS' Plymouth, Michigan facility.

The cargo van's payload can carry up to 1360kg, so a large sised mould or part is no obstacle to using this courtesy service.

In addition, the GKS van is available for transporting GKS metrologists and equipment to customer sites for onsite measurement and scanning projects.

"Reliability to our customers is our goal and providing reliable transportation for our technicians and equipment will facilitate our timeliness and scheduling", remarked DeRemer.

As temperature fluctuations can alter the measurement accuracy of metrology instruments, the GKS van is maintained overnight in a temperature controlled lab so that the company's sensitive equipment is not subjected to severe temperature swings during the drive to the customer site.

DeRemer added: "We are projecting substantial growth in our onsite services business in 2007 and expect our company van will be an asset in this effort".

The GKS onsite services division has numerous Platinum Faro Arm portable CMMs equipped with both touch probes and laser scanners.
