GKS Inspection Services Taiwan consists of a team of engineers based in Taipei providing reverse engineering, 3D laser scanning, CAD modelling and dimensional inspection services.

GKS Inspection Services has opened an office in Taiwan.

"GKS Taiwan is an important part of our strategy of becoming the global leader in the 3D laser scanning and dimensional inspection services industry", said Armando Alonso, GKS Vice President.

"GKS Taiwan broadens our scope of coverage in Asia while also giving us entry into the fast-growing Taiwanese manufacturing industry".

"We can now seamlessly provide metrology and reverse engineering services to multinational companies who have operations in Taiwan".

GKS Inspection Services Taiwan consists of a team of engineers based in Taipei providing reverse engineering, 3D laser scanning, CAD modelling and dimensional inspection services.

The company is expanding rapidly and plans to hire several more engineers in the next year.

GKS Taiwan has a wide array of equipment including a Laser Design CS-series laser scanner with an RPS-150 laser probe and the latest Surveyor Scan Control software.

Once scan data is collected, GKS Taiwan uses inspection software to create a colour error deviation map that clearly delineates any variations between the as-built part and the design intent.

The company can also has CMMs running DMIS software in addition to 2D CCD measuring systems.

The Chief Engineer for GKS Taiwan is a metrology expert with over 18 years of industrial experience.

His team of engineers is well versed in 3D laser scanning along with traditional measurement and inspection technologies and processes.

Laser scanning systems project laser light onto surfaces while cameras continuously triangulate the changing distance and profile of the laser as it sweeps along, enabling the object to be accurately replicated.

Noncontact laser scanners are able to quickly measure parts while generating far greater numbers of data points than touch probing systems.

Laser scanning can replicate the complete geometry of a complex part to a high level of accuracy.

Many companies are interested in taking advantage of the improved accuracy and speed provided by 3D laser scanning but need to scan only a relatively small number of parts.

Such companies have difficulty justifying the cost of acquiring a laser scanner and training operators in its use.

GKS Inspection Services offers outsourced laser scanning services on a project basis.

Companies worldwide send parts to GKS, which will then create a CAD model or inspection report quickly and accurately, saving time, money and resources.

Alternately, GKS can dispatch trained metrologists to the customer site using portable measuring and scanning devices.
