Gilbert Gilkes and Gordon has appointed Midlands-based GM Treble as a leading stockist for a range of its products.

The prestigious agreement, which was completed in September, cements the relationship between Gilkes and GM Treble and covers the Gilkes J Series self-priming pump range and associated spares.

This agreement is a very significant development, as it is the first preferred stockist relationship signed and sealed between Gilkes and a leading regional distributor.

It also marks a major milestone in the new distribution plans of Gilkes, who have embarked on negotiating agreements with a number of preferred stockists across the UK.

These preferred stockists have been profiled as companies who hold local stocks of Gilkes pumps and spares and who have a good local reputation and market knowledge.

Dave Fitzpatrick, Regional Manager for Gilkes explains: "This is fantastic news for Gilkes and will allow us to work much closer with GM Treble on developing the local market for our self priming pumps".

Fitzpatrick continues: "Our plans are to work a lot closer with our distributors across the UK and move closer to partnership arrangements".

"We believe it is also extremely good news for our customers who will be able to obtain fantastic after sales support at local as well as national level".

"They will also be able to gain the same favourable terms from our preferred distributors as they have come to expect from dealing with us direct".

GM Treble has been a major pump distributor in the Midlands region for over 40 years and has been a Gilkes customer for the majority of that time.

This agreement covers West Midlands, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire and will give Gilkes the opportunity to further expand its market share in the region by building on the reputation of GM Treble and Gilkes, respectively.

GM Treble has over GBP 1 million stock of pumps at the modern warehouse facility in Wolverhampton and the Derby office.

The company employs 45 people and has specialist technical sales staff with a full working knowledge of the Gilkes range of pumps.

Gilkes plans to work closely with GM Treble and future preferred stockists developing individual marketing plans to sustain and grow sales of self priming, submersible and diaphragm pumps in their region.
