Conference addresses powertrain design
Gamma Technologies has revealed the programme for its 6th annual GT-Suite Users' Conference, to be held in Dearborn, MI, on Monday 18th November 2002.
Morel alleged that in June 2002 Fawzan Alsharif, Business Development Manager for the Software Division of Ricardo, recklessly and maliciously defamed him in a series of e-mails sent to more than 60 persons in the automotive industry.
Specifically, Morel alleged that the e-mails were untrue and defamatory both personally and to his company.
During the two-day trial, the jury heard evidence that showed that Alsharif had fabricated and sent the e-mails under an assumed name after concluding that he needed to "smear" Morel's reputation in order for Ricardo to be able to compete with Gamma Technologies for sales of automotive software products, according to Morel's attorney, James A Fletcher of the Chicago-based firm of Fletcher and Sippel.
The Ricardo firm, with operations in Van Buren Township, Michigan and in Burr Ridge, Illinois, was not a defendant in the case.
"I am pleased that the facts finally came to light and that the jury vindicated me", said Morel.
"Now, I can again turn all my focus on our software products".
