A new module adds an impressive 3D modelling capability to Gamma's GT-Suite of engine simulation solutions.

Gamma Technologies has released a new GEM3D module for its product GT-Suite.

The new module adds an impressive 3D modelling capability to Gamma's GT-Suite of engine simulation solutions.

It is built on top of the well established Parasolid geometric component modelling software (produced by UGS Corp.) and this enabled its rapid development by GTI.

With the increasing integration of modelling capabilities in the industry, there has been lot of interest in linking Gamma's simulation tools GT-Suite and GT-Power with CAD 3D modelling.

With the new GEM3D tool, engineers can import CAD models, create and add to them new components, and then discretise them in an automated way for CAE analysis by GT-Suite.

The first release of GEM3D is dedicated to modelling of entire engine intake and exhaust systems, including very complex elements such as exhaust mufflers, catalysts and air cleaners.

The new tool will save GT-Power users hours of tedious manual work, while improving the accuracy of engine acoustics design.
