A new 76.2mm-displacement vibration test system aims to further push the boundaries available to the vibration test engineer.

LDS Test and Measurement has introduced a new 76.2mm-displacement vibration test system to further push the boundaries available to the vibration test engineer.

Designed in response to customers' needs, the V875LS is the only shaker in the 35.6kN force range with 76.2mm displacement and a large 640mm diameter mounting table.

This is in addition to a 440mm table, making the V875LS system the natural choice for large payloads, package testing, and shock testing applications.

The V875LS system comprises a 76.2mm-displacement shaker with either a 440 or 640mm-diameter armature, and LPT and HBT combos with slip tables ranging in sise from 600 to 1220mm - all with 76.2mm stroke.

Options available with the system include head expanders, thermal barriers to ensure compatibility with Agree and Cert standard thermal chambers, and airglide mobility.

The V875LS is more than simply a longer-stroke version of its highly successful 50mm predecessor.

As well as delivering a longer 76.2mm displacement at 35.6kN force, the V875LS also includes a number of customer-driven design enhancements aimed at improving the reliability and operating resilience of the system.

A new armature centre-positioning system has been designed which virtually eliminates the effects of dust and debris.

There have also been improvements to the bearing assemblies to give higher cross-axial stiffness and higher overturning moments, which are usually reduced when the shaker stroke is increased.

LDS also designs and manufactures the worlds best selling vibration controllers - CometUSB and LaserUSB, offering up to 16 channels with the ease of USB connectivity.

This combined solution meets the requirements of package testing in the electronics manufacturing industry, and is endorsed by the leading PC manufacturers.

It is also ideal for S and R/airbag/LTH and road-load testing in automotive, high shock and SRS testing in aerospace and defence, as well as various tests in the transportation market.

Customers can now run low frequency tests (1Hz) on the V875LS that were previously only possible using hydraulic test systems.
