Digital manufacturing matches moulding
Machine is designed to serve growing trend in low-volume manufacturing, especially in the automotive, aerospace, consumer product and heavy industry markets.
The product is available in polyester and/or polyimide based films and is available in various thicknesses from 25 to 150um.
Furthermore, varying thicknesses of adhesives are available from 25 to 50um.
Although lighter in weight than metal extrusions/current metal reflectors, the polyimide films, in their very nature, are much more heat resistant and can withstand higher processing temperatures.
This provides GSPK Circuits with the capability to reflow the films to 280C.
The films can be bonded to other substrates used within the fabrication of the finished units - ie PCBs, aluminium, steel etc - to suit customers' end applications.
The custom laminated finishes are available in white, silver, blue, red, amber, green, black and opaque black with further colour advancements currently under development.
Reflecta-finish provides an enhanced light performance system, a custom cosmetic appearance and an innovative finish which acts as a solder resist, thus replacing traditional solder resists.
The new product is available on all PCB thicknesses and is applicable for both conventional and surface mount double sided and single sided PCBs.
Steve Lloyd, Managing Director of GSPK Circuits said: "We have conducted a great deal of market research in preparation for the development of this product but I continue to be greatly surprised and excited by the ongoing response we are receiving from companies, not only within the lighting market but also the automotive and vehicle markets".
"This new and innovative technology is relevant to many more applications than I could have dreamed of".
