Offering a device to suit most applications, a new range of holding magnets from Geeplus have exceptionally high accuracy surface finishes to ensure that the best possible connection to a mating part.

Available in a variety of sizes and strengths, the magnets use permanent magnets for the more commonly used practices of holding doors open or clamping components in place in moulding tools, but in situations requiring high temperature use, Geeplus uses samarium cobalt magnets.

For safety applications, Geeplus provides a range of electromagnets which develop an attraction force when an electric current is applied to the device.

The most common use would be in fire doors which, in the event of an alarm being triggered or power failure, the magnet would release the door to close off the area.

Also available are HMER (holding magnets with electrical release) devices which combine the properties of both.

Permanent magnets provide excitation to hold the mating part without external power being applied and an excitation pulse is applied with reverse polarity to counter the permanent magnetic field and release the mating part.
