Voice coil actuator keeps on going

A Geeplus product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 12, 2005

A new 26mm voice coil actuator includes a specially designed flexible termination which has a high life expectancy.

Having already achieved success with larger models, a new 26mm voice coil actuator from Geeplus includes a specially designed flexible termination which has a high life expectancy - a problem frequently encountered due to the high failure rate of the termination due to activity fatigue.

Offering outstanding control with very low hysteresis, the new voice coil actuator also gives very fast dynamic response.

Simplifying the integration of voice coil actuators into a wide range of systems, the Geeplus device joins other versions with diameters of 40mm upwards.

Apart from the difficulties experienced in connecting the terminals, engineers in the past have also been cautious about the life span of a flexible connector operating in extreme situations.

Geeplus has life tested its product and states that the termination can exceed 20 million full stroke cycles.

The actual life span will depend on the stroke used in the application.
