Innovative British firm Gripple has launched a brand new lockable product designed for ease, speed and security in catenary and bracing wire rope installation.

The Sheffield-made Lockable Gripple uses a simple push fit assembly with automatic locking wedges and secure locking screws to allow hands free adjustment and easy tensioning with the unique Gripple tensioning tool.

This makes it ideal for overhead catenary wires, carnival and promenade lighting and for bracing aerials, exhibition hall stands, extraction ducts, trees, marquees and shade cloth structures.

The Lockable Gripple is the latest product to be launched by the internationally renowned South Yorkshire company and is available in 6mm size with a 500kg working load limit.

It is designed to secure the ends of wire ropes by simply pushing them through the Gripple in one continuous loop by forming a choke knot.

And the integral locking screws can be tightened to ensure total security under dynamic load conditions preventing any movement and firmly fixing the wire rope in place.

Shaun Khan, Gripple's Product Manager Industrial said: "The lockable Gripple is the latest, innovative, lockable system for securing wire rope or cable quickly".

"It works on a simple idea - tightening the ingenious locking screws stops all movement of the internal components protecting them from the forces of nature".

"The unique locking screws specifically combat the 'bounce' effect created by wind-gallop - a typical feature of outside applications - which can cause early problems with wear and tear".

"Therefore it is ideal for many occasions where wire is under considerable pressure from the elements".
