The LAS-5010V laser displacement sensor is a compact unit which enables direct connection of power supply, signal output, or display and control device.

GWI Ltd announce the latest addition to their range of sensors for factory automation - the LAS-5010V laser displacement sensor This sensor is a new design incorporating the conditioning electronics into the sensor housing

The result is a compact self contained unit which eliminates the need for the usual external electronics module, and enables direct connection of power supply, signal output, or display and control device.

The operating principle is optical triangulation, using a 1mw visible laser diode light source.

The measuring range is ±5mm from a reference distance of 50mm away from the target, with a resolution of 10µ.

The size of light spot on the target is less than 1mm, so that even small target areas can be monitored.

The LAS-5010V operates on any DC voltage between 12 & 24 volts regulated, and gives an output signal of 4~20ma which is linear and proportional to the measurement range.

Built into the sensor is a comparator offering an adjustable alarm facility giving a PNP open collector switch action.

This device offers the ability to make measurements of position, distance, displacement, thickness, contour etc., without contact on the target, with a wide range of applications in the area of factory automation, medicine, R & D, process and production machinery.
