Voltage warning indicator application presentation of the Annual IEEE Electrical Safety workshop.

Are maintenance people safer with "thru-door" voltage warning indicators? Philip Allen, President of Grace Engineered Products, will tackle that all-important question on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at the IEEE IAS Safety Workshop Program in Calgary, Alberta Electrical Safety professionals worldwide attend this premier event to improve their plant electrical safety practices

A voltage warning indicator is a redundant electrical safety device that reduces the risk of arc flash by forewarning electricians of the presence of voltage with flashing LED's.

By using this pushbutton-sized voltmeter, which is internally wired to the primary incoming power source and externally mounted to the outside of electrical enclosures, maintenance people have the benefit of "thru-door" voltage indication.

This trouble-free device can have profound safety implications for most LOTO procedures.

The presentation will draw upon several real-life applications of voltage warning indicators by end users and discuss their acceptance and the implementation of this warning device.

Also, it will review the benefits of incorporating a voltage indicator into LOTO procedures, and discuss any incidents - either created or avoided - that was experienced by the maintenance workers.

Visual voltage indicator mounted on electrical enclosures provides better electrical safety.

The VoltageVision (R-3W) Power Warning Alert is cost effective and easily installed.

Its inherent reliability reduces electrocution risks because it is hardwired to the voltage source and enhances LOTO procedures.

The R-3W is "one-size-fits-all" and it operates on 3-Phase AC/DC voltage from 40-750VAC/30-1000VDC.

The R-3W is C-UL-US Nema 4X listed, and fits into a standard 30mm hole.

Grace Engineered Products manufacturers GracePortO Convenience Interfaces that bring data port connections from the inside to the outside of control panels.

Grace provides over 8000 different combinations of cables, connectors, and outlets in NEMA 1/12/4/4X, stainless steel, and Nema 7/9 housings.

All ports are clearly marked as to their function.

Orders are processed on a one-piece minimum with a typical 3-5 day delivery.
