Sealing materials offer abrasion resistance

A Garlock (Great Britain) product story

Klozure Mill-Right is a specially engineered elastomer, available in three grades, which has been shown to offer up to 90% increased abrasion resistance over conventional lip seal material.

Garlock, has introduced a new sealing material for its Klozure range of high-performance dynamic seals.

Klozure Mill-Right is a specially engineered elastomer, available in three grades, which has been shown to offer up to 90% increased abrasion resistance over conventional lip seal material.

As any dynamic lip seal is subject to wear the reduced abrasive properties of Mill-Right assures reduced mean time between repair (MTBR) and longer bearing life.

The low coefficient of friction offered by the material means less heat generated and lower power consumption with a resultant higher equipment efficiency.

Garlock conducted Taber Abrasion Resistance Tests (to ASTM D4060) comparing the Mill-Right materials against its own 'conventional' materials - nitrile, hydrogenated nitrile and fluoroelastomers.

Abrasion reductions improved by 73% using Mill-Right N and increased to 90% using Mill-Right V.

Used in a wide range of industries, Mill-Right is particularly suited to aggressive environments including steel and paper Mills, chemical plants and the food and pharmaceutical sector.
