The GTMA has gained five new member companies in the last quarter of 2002 alone.

When Julia Moore took over as Director of the GTMA it was her ambition to increase membership by 9% in her first year.

At the current rate she looks set to achieve that target well before the twelve months ends next September.

Moore comments, "I am particularly delighted that these new members represent a number of GTMA Sectors, including mould and die, rapid prototyping and press tool and precision machining, reinforcing the breadth of the association's activities".

Four of the new member companies are based in the West Midlands, proving that it remains a vital powerhouse of UK manufacturing: Bournville Engineering, Hockley Pattern and Tool Co, RP Solutions and Sprint Tool and Die.

The fifth new member, Alliance Design and Manufacturing, flying the flag for the North West, is based in Manchester.

Hockley Pattern MD, Neil Williams, cited the GTMA's marketing assistance, for example help in attending trade shows, together with its active lobbying of the Government on manufacturing issues, as the company's main reasons for joining the association at this time.
