Rapindex press transfer machinery now from Gudel
The acquisition of Michigan-based Rapindex Inc by Gudel AG has extended the comapny's range of advanced multi-axis gantry loading systems, automation equipment and press transfer machinery
In addition, systems can be fitted with laser or video scanners for component inspection, reverse engineering or rapid prototyping work.
The new gantry units achieve absolute positional accuracy of better than +0.1mm and can be supplied with automatic tool changers and a wide variety of inter-linked control systems to suit individual requirements.
They can also be equipped with robot machining heads for complex multi-axis positioning applications.
Each gantry unit provides extreme rigidity and utilises a rack and pinion drive to achieve maximum head traverse speeds of 10 metre/sec and accelerations of up to 20 metre/sec2.
Equipment can be engineered in a wide range of materials, including aluminium and steel, as well as high performance alloys - with or without special-purpose coatings - for use in high temperature, high humidity, dirty, corrosive or radioactive working environments.
All Gudel gantry machining systems are manufactured to rigorous ISO9001 quality standards and incorporate automatic lubrication of rails, rollers, drive pinions and racks to ensure trouble-free operation and low-maintenance at ambient temperatures down to -20C.
