Gudel UK has extended its range of high performance worm drive gearboxes for servo-drive applications with the Gudel AE series, available in five model sizes

Coventry-based parts handling and automation equipment specialist, Gudel UK has extended its range of high performance worm drive gearboxes for servo-drive applications.

Gudel AE series gearboxes are available in five model sizes with shaft centres of 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 mm and standard reduction ratios that have been widened from 2:1 to a new maximum of 47:1.

Units offer high output torque (up to a maximum of 2300 Nm for 120 mm size models), combined with exceptional positional accuracy and repeatability.

Backlash is factory set to between 3 and 6 minutes of arc and can easily be adjusted in the field by means of eccentric hubs located on the drive's hollow output shaft.

AE series gearboxes can be used with any manufacturer's motors and incorporate purpose designed input and output couplings, which not only provide driveline protection but also minimise torsional loading.

The drives' aluminium casings are fully machined to permit them to be mounted on any face and in any orientation, while integral cooling fins ensure optimum running temperatures, even under the most arduous duty cycles.

Already used world-wide throughout the machine tool, automation and special machine building sectors, Gudel AE series gearboxes are manufactured in-house to ISO 9001 standards and are supplied ready filled with high performance synthetic oil - giving trouble-free operation for up to 5 years before needing an oil change.

The latest models complement Gudel's standard range of worm gear reduction units and are backed by the company's Coventry-based technical support service, which offers in-depth product selection advice as well as dedicated installation and applications engineering support.

Full equipment specifications can also be found on the company's Website along with dimensioned drawings that can be downloaded directly to engineers' desktops - to both speed the design process and simplify facilities planning.

In addition, Gudel publishes a series of five free design and selection data booklets, which provide in-depth specification data on the company's extensive range of multi-axis handling modules, track motion equipment, RoboLoop systems, guideway components and power transmission products.
