Multi-axis Gantry Robots are the latest additions to the range of advanced mechanical handling solutions available from Coventry-based Gudel UK.

Multi-axis Gantry Robots are the latest additions to the range of advanced mechanical handling solutions available from Coventry-based Gudel UK Providing a fully programmable, five-axis component positioning capability, the new Gantry Robot systems are ideal for locating and manipulating heavy or bulky components in high volume production environments

They provide extreme positional accuracy and repeatability.

As a result, they are particularly suitable for close tolerance manufacturing processes - such as welding, profile cutting, sealant application or other assembly operations - as well as complex, interoperational work handling tasks.

Combining the proven capabilities of Gudel's multi-axis gantry handling modules with optional 4th and 5th axis robot heads and ABB S4C Plus control technology, Gudel's new Gantry Robot range delivers maximum operational flexibility and versatility.

Units are manufactured on a modular design basis, incorporating standard guideways, motors, and drives.

In addition, the system's hand-held control units use simple commands and incorporate an operator guided 'self-teach' facility.

Installations can therefore be tailored precisely to customer requirements or easily re-programmed to meet changing operational demands.

Gudel Gantry Robots are produced to rigorous ISO9001 quality standards and can be supplied in a wide variety of materials and protective coatings to combat the most aggressive operating environments.

Systems also feature automatic lubrication of rails, rollers, drive pinions and racks to ensure trouble-free operation and low-maintenance at ambient temperatures down to -20C.
