Collaborators to provide the best of both worlds

A Gudel UK product story

Gudel UK and Kuka Automation + Robotics have strengthened their working relationship with a new collaboration agreement.

Gudel UK and Kuka Automation + Robotics have strengthened their working relationship with a collaboration agreement that covers both companies' best-in-class work handling, positioning and manipulation technology.

Under the new arrangement, each company will recommend the other's equipment as the preferred choice for combined technology applications.

The development also underlines the availability of Kuka controllers on the latest range of Gudel gantry robot multi-axis positioning equipment.

Furthermore, it demonstrates the versatility of Kuka's PC-based, KMC motion control system; which provides a highly configurable method of controlling multiple servo drive devices.

As a result, significant operational and cost-saving benefits are available through the companies' standardisation on a common programming system to control all elements of customers' integrated motion solutions.

"These are typified by our first joint contract; where a 5-metre gantry system is used alongside four Kuka robots in a demanding construction materials application", says Gudel UK's joint Managing Director, Gary Ottley.

"I am delighted that we have formalised what was already a close working relationship with Kuka and look forward to building on this foundation in the future".

"Both companies are leaders in their respective fields", continues Kuka's General Sales Manager, Brett Green.

"Customers can therefore benefit from innovative, high precision component positioning and manipulation solutions, backed by the applications engineering and customer support resources of two brand leaders".

"We fully expect to build on our combined strengths to increase market share, not only in established robot and automated handling markets like automotive and aerospace, but throughout general industrial sectors as well".

"With several new opportunities already in the pipeline, we are confident of announcing further joint contract wins in the very near future".
