Automated manufacturing installation for scaffolding systems and work platform manufacturer in Ireland is latest joint project by Gudel and Millennium Controls since signing collaboration agreement.

An automated manufacturing installation for a scaffolding systems and work platform manufacturer in Ireland is the latest joint project completed by Gudel and Millennium Controls since the recent signing of a collaboration agreement.

Featuring a 6 by 3m Gudel X-Y table, which provides consistent positional accuracy to +0.1mm, the unit uses purpose-designed hydraulic tooling to secure automatically up to nine tube connectors in one operation.

The system's high acceleration and deceleration capabilities let the equipment achieve cycle times up to 20% faster than the user's previous manufacturing methods.

"The proven accuracy and in-service performance of our multiple-axis positioning equipment has been complemented by Millennium's advanced automation and controls technology," said Gudel Managing Director Gary Ottley.

Millennium's Managing Director Paul Murphy added: "The project has run remarkably smoothly and the finished installation offers our customer the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of finished product variants - as well as increase throughput and reduce production costs".

"I am confident that this will be the forerunner of many new contracts to provide automation and work handling systems to customers in the Irish manufacturing sector over the coming months".
