The model A37 mini encoder is a 12bit single-turn absolute rotary encoder with optoelectronic technology.

These encoders are used in a wide variety of position-sensing applications for the measuring of angles and distances in relatively small envelopes.

Mechanical features include a 37mm diameter aluminium housing, a 3-4mm diameter stainless steel shaft, and precision ball bearings.

Output formats include serial, parallel and multiplexed versions of Gray code or natural binary.

The model A37 is one of a family of new low-cost true absolute encoders available from Gurley.

Other models include a 19mm-diameter absolute rotary encoder with 12bit resolution and a 58mm diameter absolute rotary encoder with 12, 14, 15 or 16bit resolution.
