The Series 9480H optical encoder has multiple read heads to eliminate many common sources of encoder errors, and its stainless steel construction greatly enhances resistance to thermal effects.

The Series 9480H from Gurley Precision Instruments is a robust metrology-grade optical encoder.

It incorporates multiple read heads to eliminate many common sources of encoder errors, and its stainless steel construction greatly enhances resistance to thermal effects.

It is designed for very precise positioning of rotary tables on machine tools, co-ordinate measuring machines, dividing apparatus, antennas, test equipment and similar devices.

The 9480H generates up to 7,200,000 count/rev (after user's 4x quadrature decode), which is a resolution of 0.00005 degrees, or 0.18arc-sec.

All electronics are inside the encoder and the accuracy is +/-2.5arc-sec.

The encoder is available with a 60mm hollow shaft and incorporates an internal flexible shaft coupling.

The 9480H is interchangeable with common competitive products.
