PLC system eases machine control

The GF VEDO 35 and 57 offer the convenience of a single package with the potential for significant time, cost, wiring and space savings.

Gefran SIEI UK has released a combined HMI and PLC system, capable of completely self-contained machine control for small to medium sized automation applications The new GF VEDO 35 and 57 series includes a choice of 3.5 or 5.7in colour or mono touchscreen HMIs with an IEC61131-3 PLC plus I/O and fieldbus expansion to offer the convenience of a single package with the potential for significant time, cost, wiring and space savings

The 320 x 240 QVGA touchscreen displays offer full graphics capability via a Java-based Visual designer software, which is integrated with the IEC 61131-3 PLC under the Gefran Automation Builder (GAB) programming environment.

PLC expansion is accomplished via the built-in Gilogik bus, with a wide selection of analogue and digital I/O modules, temperature and counter modules available from the Gefran Gilogik PLC range.

An Ethernet 10/100 port is provided as standard for data communication and programming via Modbus TCP and USB 2.0 or RS485 are optionally available, along with CANopen or Devicenet networking.

The 200MHz ARM9 processor based system includes 64Mbyte user memory and 64Mbyte (Flash) system memory for program and parameter storage and SSD/HD memory card support is available up to 1Gbyte.
