Mid force, twin column materials testing systems

Following the success of the LRX Plus, Ametek Lloyd Instruments is now extending its Plus range with the new LR5K Plus and LR10K Plus materials testing systems.

Following the success of the LRX Plus, Ametek Lloyd Instruments is now extending its Plus range with the new LR5K Plus and LR10K Plus materials testing systems.

These mid force, twin column machines offer the same benefits of operational ease, advanced testing performance and flexible Nexygen software control.

Both instruments are launched in April, with the LR5K Plus unveiled at Pakex 2001, NEC, Birmingham recently.

Twin column systems provide a stable platform for testing materials under various environmental conditions to mimic everyday applications.

The 5kN LR5K Plus and 10kN LR10K Plus tests a wide variety of materials from reinforced rubbers, composites and plastics to fabrics, packaging, paper, film and much more.

They are easy to set up with minimal operator training by using intelligent menus and prompts.

Accessories such as the loadcell and extensometer are automatically identified which allows users to 'Plug and Play' rapidly.

Test accuracy is guaranteed by a 1kHz data sampling rate and the option of advanced control using Nexygen software from Ametek Lloyd Instruments is also provided.

Many functions, including creep (constant load), relaxation (constant extension), load rate (load per minute), and strain rate, can be controlled through Nexygen software.

This powerful software holds an extensive library of international standard tests and enables advanced automation, data analysis and clear reporting, with the added facility to write test programmes through the optional ONDIO? software programme.

NEXYGEN is fully compatible with Windows 95/98/2000 and NT and offers full integration with Microsoft programmes such as Excel, Outlook and Word.

Other features of the LR5K Plus and LR10K Plus include a flash upgradeable processor for fast instrument upgrading without making physical changes to the internal circuitry.

Ten different test set-ups can be stored, and up to 600 test results for process and quality monitoring saved in a battery backed up RAM.

A self diagnostic capability also reduces downtime for routine problem solving and servicing.

Extended versions are also available, ideal for testing highly flexible materials that elongate beyond the standard 1000mm crosshead.

For testing large specimens up to 1.5m3, the LR5K Plus and LR10K Plus may also be mounted above an optional compression cage.

Furthermore, an extensive range of easily interchangeable load cells, grips, environment chambers, extensometers and other accessories are available, and the instruments meet ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1 and DIN 51221 force measuring standards.

For international users, the LR5K Plus and LR10K Plus as well as Nexygen data analysis software have multi-lingual interfaces including English, French, German, Italian, Danish, Thai and Chinese and measurements are selectable in various international units.
