Ultraviolet disinfection system for Kent brewery
Shepherd Neame Brewery in Kent has installed an ultraviolet disinfection system to treat both deoxygenated cutting liquor and water for bottle rinsing.
They are designed to recover good quality water from tertiary treated effluent for the island's high technology industries, reducing the burden on the PUB's potable water supply.
The decision to award the contracts to Hanovia was made following a three-year pilot study and successful bioassays of Hanovia UV systems at the Bedok plant.
A life cycle cost analysis also determined medium pressure to be the most cost-effective technology available.
Each factory will be supplied with three Hanovia Photon systems featuring remote operation, dose pacing and automatic sleeve wiping technology, allowing the plant to operate unattended.
