Ultraviolet disinfection system for Kent brewery
Shepherd Neame Brewery in Kent has installed an ultraviolet disinfection system to treat both deoxygenated cutting liquor and water for bottle rinsing.
Each UV system will be fitted with a patented TX10 transmittance monitor to measure seasonal changes in the transmittance of the incoming water, allowing UV output to be constantly adjusted so as to ensure a consistent dose.
Automatic lamp wiping and power switching technology will also ensure optimum dose at all times.
Hanovia's medium pressure UV technology was a deciding factor in the choice of treatment system, as the lower number of UV lamps in each chamber offers less resistance to fluid flow, resulting in lower overall head loss.
Medium pressure technology also results in energy and component savings for the system operators.
